I checked the calendar I pinned to my wall and saw the date encircled with red marker many times over. I grinned—it was the day. It was my birthday today and I was pumped! I turn twenty-two today and can hold it over my brother, just like every year when my birthday comes.

            Jumping away from the wall, I jumped onto the bed, my body crashing with that of my girlfriend’s. ____ let out an “oomph!” at the impact and woke up, startled by the sudden wake-up. I laughed my signature laugh and she just stared at me for a moment before laughing along with me. I loved her like that—the way she just rides along with just about anything I tend to do made her look adorable in my eyes.

            “Hey, frau,” I said, “do zhou know vat day it is today?”

            She feigned thinking hard about the occasion today, a finger against her chin and eyes raised to the ceiling. Then she giggled and put her arms around my neck.

            “Of course, I do, silly,” ____ said, her voice muffled by my neck. She pulled away with a soft look in her eyes.

            “Happy birthday, Gil. Ich liebe dich, you know that, right?” she said, smiling.

            I grinned widely and said, “So, mein frau, vat did zhou get me?”

            She sighed then swung her legs off the bed, standing up in front of me as I remained seated. “You see, Gil, I couldn’t find an awesome enough present for you.” She sat down on my lap, straddling me. “So I just settled for this,” she said, then swiftly leaned down and attached her lips to mine. I immediately started kissing back, swiping my tongue against her sweet lips, asking for entrance.

            She opened her mouth and I delved in, running my tongue all over the inside her mouth, tangling it with hers, and starting a battle for dominance, After a bit of pushing, pulling, and biting, I finally won, constricting her waist in my arms even more, right after we started kissing.

            But then, like all cock-blockers, the need for air just had to separate us and we pulled away at the same time, a string of saliva still connecting us. It broke when ____ smiled and wrapped her arms around me again. “So,” she started, “was that an awesome enough present for you?”

            I chuckled, hugging her tightly. “Most awesome gift I ever got, liebe.” I softly kissed her temple.

            She giggled. “An awesome kiss for an awesome boyfriend, then.”

            I pushed her chin up with a finger and kissed her softly on the lips.

            “From an equally awesome girlfriend.”
